Project description

Every design begins with a context - social, cultural, historical, but also architectural. Every intervention relates to this context in one way or another. Architects have to recognise the specific contextual characteristics in order to be able to think and build on the respective location.

In the summer semester, our attention turns to Prague, where a town house with multifunctional use is to be developed.
The constructive task is to develop the design and its detailing in such a way that both a functional conversion and a later dismantling with maximum reuse of the components could take place.
In an inner-city building, the face of the building, the façade, is of great importance as it is the first thing to be perceived in the context of the location. We will therefore focus in particular on the façade structure, its materialisation and possible dismantling, as well as the independence of the façade and its urban impact.
