Project description
Social, ecological and architectural-planning crises can be seen in the self-owned homes. This crisis potential holds enormous potential for transformation. From a sociological, urban planning and architectural perspective, changing housing desires and practices, architectural and urban planning conditions of home production as well as social consequences of housing and land ownership will be investigated. The aim is to use experimental qualitative empirical methods to develop options for action in terms of social and ecological transformation.
The research team consists of eight people representing the disciplines of architecture, contemporary history, urban planning, urban research and visual communication.
Work was carried out in different sub-projects that dealt with central themes of single-family houses:
> the underlying LIVING DESIRES
> a possible structural transformation in the FURTHER DEVELOPMENT
> the related legal form of OWNERSHIP
> as well as the socially necessary KNOWLEDGE COMMUNICATION.
