Project description

Damage processes have a significant impact on the service life of engineering structures. Operating built infrastructure beyond its original service life can reduce the immense resource consumption of the construction sector. To ensure safe operation, system and structural health monitoring is required, based on manual inspections and, increasingly, continuous sensor networks. This data is fed into a digital twin from which a robust and responsive predictive model is developed to predict structural integrity using neural networks.
