Project description
This project aims to create installations that symbolize harmony and peace through the interaction between the Trametes Versicolor and Fomes Fomentarius species of fungi. The idea emerged after extensive research at Biolab, where mycelia were encouraged to compete within a shared space, using Petri dishes. Upon discovering textures, colors, and shapes resulting from this experiment, the author decided to deconstruct conflicts and wars, creating installations that celebrate harmony within diversity.
In the installation titled "Harmony of Dissonances," the intention is to cultivate fungi in contrasting forms and positions, representing the coexistence of different perspectives and viewpoints.
In the "Spiral of Dance" installation, the idea is to make the fungi "dance" in a spiral shape, symbolizing continuous and cyclical transformation. Dance is an important tool for transformation and harmony, allowing for the expression of emotions, storytelling, and fostering connections between people.
In the "Border Dialogues" installation, the objective is to create a grid pattern representing bordering territories. Fungi positioned in nutrient-depleted areas will need to establish dialogues between different species and cultures that have migrated to the nourishing environment.
