The Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is seeking to fill a position at the Chair of Data Engineering as of 01.09.2025 or earlier as a
Research Assistant (m/f/d)
with the aim of promoting the applicants further academic qualification. This is a full-time position. The weekly working time is 40 hours.
The position is initially limited until 31.08.2028. An extension is possible in accordance with the applicable regulations of the Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (WissZeitVG).
Responsibilities:
- Development of new approaches to generative design in the field of computational mechanics
- Collaboration in the research group Deep Learning in Computational Mechanics
- Publication of scientific results in renowned journals and presentations at international conferences
- Collaboration in the application for research projects
- Collaboration in teaching on the Bachelor's degree course in Civil Engineering
Employment requirements:
- Master's degree and/or doctorate in mechanics, computer science, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, architectural informatics, or a related field
- Knowledge of the development of deep learning and mechanics
- Good knowledge of CAD
- Desired: knowledge in the area of large language models
- As a postdoc: regular publications in relevant journals are an advantage
- Python programming skills
- Interest in interdisciplinary questions
Remuneration is based on the provisions of the collective agreement for the public service of the federal states (TV-L) according to personal requirements up to pay group 13 TV-L. The possibility of a doctorate is given.
