From 11 to 14 July, it’s summaery time at your alma mater! Students, scientists and staff warmly invite you to the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar’s summaery2024 where they will be presenting their ideas on and approaches to this year’s theme »PLAN B«. The event is open to university members and the general public and is spread out over more than 50 locations on campus and across the city.
The theme of this year’s annual exhibition was developed by the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering and is meant to highlight alternative solutions for current social challenges. These solutions are among those being conceptualised, tested and developed at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. The theme also emphasises that progress cannot succeed without failure. After all, research, art and teaching thrive on the freedom to experiment. Each result counts and serves as a source of inspiration and innovation.
summaery2024 will see students transforming campus into a one-of-a-kind venue. For four days, attendees are invited to visit exciting exhibitions, films, installations, performances and many other events scheduled in the summaery programme.
Alumni Day will take place on Saturday, 13 July, where you, our alumni, can enjoy individual guided tours, discovery tours and alumni walks. We warmly invite you to the annual Alumni Champagne Reception at 5 pm and a reading in the Bauhaus.Atelier. Come enjoy summaery2024! We look forward to seeing you!

Between the two events is an extraordinary seventy-seven year-long life. The event is part of a vibrant culture of remembrance and is being held as part of this year’s theme at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar »Demokratie stärken«. The event is committed to communicating Else Goldschmidt's life, which was characterised by upheavals and crises and embodies the emancipated woman of the Weimar Republic.
