The video »Lusco-Fusco« deals with the subjects of darkness, dreaming and lying awake at night. The black screen is the dominant feature here and doesn’t merely serve as a background but is consciously used as a material that strengthens the immersive and auditory character of the work. Along with lines of texts, the artist incorporates numerous audio and stereo effects to reinforce the spatial depth of the video. The work also includes excerpts from the book »Água-Viva« by the Brazilian writer Clarice Lispector and the well-known children’s song »A Casa« by Vinícius de Moraes.
The video installation »Lusco-Fusco« is part of the work »Unfolding Spaces of My Memory – Female Migration through Audio«.
