The »Salon A.-Lincoln-Str. 7« is supposed to be an artistic reinterpretation of the European literary salons of the 19th century, and more specifically Duchess Anna Amalia’s »Court of Muses«. The salon’s concept-based event series regularly takes place in Katrin Steiger’s private apartment in Weimar. The invitations to the events are sent by post to national and international guests.
The »Salonabend« [Salon Evening] always centres on a specific theme. Regular guests and external experts are asked in advance to secretly prepare something related to the theme. Moderated by the salonnière Katrin Steiger, the invited guests experience a unique evening of expert lectures, discussions, readings, music and »salonesque« conviviality. The evening winds down with a long, shared dinner.
The »French Film Friday« and »Dystopische Donnerstag« [Dystopian Thursday] are curated film events. The salonnière shows films in a staged accompanying programme and subsequently discusses them together with her guests at the end. The Salon is a long-term project. A limited edition of the corresponding publication »Salon A.-Lincoln-Str. 7« was printed in 2012.
