The series »Self-portrait« is a ongoing and open-ended series of photos dating back to 2008. The photos were taken in various cities in Europe, e.g. Berlin, Weimar and Rome. Camera in hand, the photographer Miriam Yammad goes out in search for people who share a resemblance with her. Regardless of whether they are young or old, the important thing is that she sees something in them, which reminds her of herself. The photographs serve as the starting point for examining forms of imitation in affirming and deconstructing one’s identity.
