»HANT« is an interdisciplinary photography project that aims to present an extensive overview of the Thuringian photography scene. The editors of the biannual publication »HANT – Magazin für Fotografie« [HANT – Magazine of Photography] wish to portray the culture of photography in Thuringia – a place of culture and academics.
The first issue of the photo magazine was published in March 2013; five more issues have followed since. The HANT team wishes to share their passion for photography with other photo enthusiasts and, by way of submissions, motivate students of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar to present their works to a broader public. In addition to producing the magazine, another important component of the project involves organising lectures, workshops, exhibitions and release parties. The lecture series presents portfolios of established photographers from the region and students of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. The project also includes a theme-specific photography workshop which mainly focuses on teaching participants basic and advanced knowledge of photography.
