How does it "feel" to glide through the air while performing a double somersault the air, or to swirl around your own axis while standing on only a ten centimetre wide beam, or to plunge seven metres headlong into an abyss?
Christian Buckenauer, together with top athletes from the German Gymnastics Federation Deutschen Turner-Bundes (DTB), Elisabeth Seitz, Marcel Nguyen, Jana Berezko-Marggrander, Andreas Bretscheider and Lara Hüninhake captured movement in a whole new way.
The Opener includes the disciplines of apparatus gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics and trampoline with top athletes from the German national team and serves as a teaser / opener for sporting events in stadiums, TV broadcasts and online PR activities for future DTB events. In addition, this footage will be shown by the Southwest Broadcasting Südwestrundfunk (SWR) for forthcoming World Cup and European Championships.
The premiere of the footage was in front of 80,000 spectators on 18 May 2013 at the International German Gymnastics Festival and was broadcasted to stadium video screens around Mannheim, such as to the Mannheim Wasserturm (water tower), the SAP-Arena, the Maimarkthalle and the Carl-Benz-Stadium.
This project was the first in-house studio filming at Greenscreen-Studio Nivre Film & Studio GmbH since it opened in January 2013.
