Reliable. Lightweight. Durable.
The perfect companion for your adventure.
The concept makes it possible to mount »rack« to bike frames without drill holes because of its clamp-on design. That is why it makes even mountain or race bikes the perfect companion on long, fully loaded trips. Due to structural optimization using a special software, unnecessary weight was saved and a long-life and durable bike rack could be constructed. The program calculates maximum stable structures with the so called “soft-kill-option” (SKO) which deduce from bone structures and growth. These calculations were then interpreted to their final shape and design. For example, braces to attach bike-panniers were integrated into the SKO-structure. Moreover, the structure of »rack« offers enough possibilities to secure additional load using expanders. As a result, this rack clearly stands out in comparison to normal bicycle racks. For better visibility on the streets, a tail-light is included. All these details make »rack« the perfect companion on every bike trip - whether to the supermarket around the corner or around the globe. During first tests in rough terrain the prototype showed excellent performance.
During the winter semester 2017/18, the development of the concept was continued in cooperation with the bicycle manufacturer Möve Bikes from Mühlhausen/Thuringia.
