Master project
The project should evoke the memory of a specific place. He should reflect this reg, but also try to give it a new identity. The intention is to create a building that corresponds to the geology of the region. The Baltic Sea coast is characterized by many special features, such as the nature reserve of the Curonian Spit, with migratory dune landscapes and Pine forests, moor areas or even the past as a royal Baltic Sea resort in East Prussia. Above all, amber and its world-wide largest occurrence in this region is one of the landmarks of this region.
The design is based on an intellectual section of the region. A section that runs like a core hole, extracts the substance of the place and brings it to light. The noise and bustle of the city is causing more and more people to seek peace and security in nature. In the immediate vicinity of the Baltic Sea, a pine forest provides the perfect protection through the trees, he creates an oasis. The accumulation of the various factors makes it an optimal location for a bathhouse, which ties in with an old, archaic bathing culture and represents a counter model to the event tourism of the Baltic Sea coast.
The appearance of the structure is rough, robust, strong and durable. It gives the impression of having always been there. The look of the surface puts the viewer back in time.
