As part of the action week of the Weltoffenes Thüringen initiative, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, together with numerous other educational institutions from Weimar, hosted the »Weimarer Wissensdialog« on Herderplatz on 23 August.
Get into conversation, ask questions, try things out and join in: In addition to the presentation of research projects and artistic positions, the program included various hands-on activities and thematic points of contact. Researchers and artists presented their work, explained how it was created and engaged in conversation with the citizens of Weimar.
At the Chair of Transport System Planning, for example, participants were able to experience what it is like to be visually impaired, while the Institute for Applied Building Research gGmbH provided insights into how mobile devices are used in the building materials industry. Urban development ideas for Weimar-Nord and the brownfield sites on »Mostgasse« and »Hinter der Badestube« were also presented and interested visitors were able to make candle holders out of clay.
