The Individual Language Coaching is a 45-minute one-to-one consultation with a native speaker instructor.
For whom? The Language Coaching is aimed towards all doctoral candidates of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar working on their academic paper/s as non-native speakers of the English language. Depending on the availability of funding, PostDocs of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar (with employment or scholarship at or from the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar) can also take advantage of Language Coaching Programme, provided that they are preparing a publication or presentation of their research project as a non-native English speaker.
Please Note: We offer 5 Language Coaching Sessions per person and per year.
All individual language coaching sessions are, until further notice, offered as online sessions with the coach. Registrations for the coaching sessions are on a first-come-first-serve basis and depending on availability.
Requirements for your individual session
In preparation for your session with the coach you should prepare a short paragraph on the content of your text and your field of research. Furthermore, please define clearly how the coach can specifically help you, e.g. advice on grammar, preparation for a conference presentation, limited proofreading etc. This information will help the coach to plan the 45 minutes consultation with you. We will offer you an individual appointment with our coach after your registration. As these are fixed slots exclusively reserved for the individual doctoral candidates/Postdocs, we require a written notification by email to the BRS for any cancellations (research-school[at]uni-weimar.de).
