For doctoral degrees that are projected to be completed in the 2025 funding year, three-month doctoral degree completion scholarships could be awarded. Simultaneous applications are allowed:
- 6 BAUHAUS Doctoral Degree Completion Scholarships
- 3 EQUAL OPPORTUNITY Doctoral Degree Completion Scholarships for women doctoral candidates
Funding:
- 1,400 euros per month for 3 months, an extension is generally not possible
- if applicable, child allowance oriented at the ThürGFVO: 300 Euro for the 1. child, 150 Euro each further child
CALL 2025/26
- The application deadline ends on January 15, 2025
- As a rule, the scholarship commission will select the scholarship holders in March.
Who can apply?
Prerequisite: Applicants must be able to demonstrate good academic performance and an ability to finish the doctoral programme within the funding year of 2025.
The three-month funding period may be scheduled any time during the 2025 funding year (April 2025-March 2026)
The scholarship cannot be awarded to persons in full-time employment. Secondary employment is permitted in accordance with the provisions of the scholarship statutes of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Further details are also regulated in the currently valid version of the statutes on the awarding of scholarships at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Selection process
The scholarship commission of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, as a central interdisciplinary committee, decides on the basis of the prospects of success and the relevance of the doctoral project.
Furthermore, criteria that correspond to the character of the respective doctoral degree scholarship format can be used for the award decision: social criteria, biographical hurdles, voluntary commitment in Weimar, Bauhaus connection, international or interdisciplinary orientation, etc.
The decision on the awarding of scholarships at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is expected to be made in March.
Should not all doctoral scholarships be awarded in the first round, there will be a second call for applications in the summer. The decisions on the award in the summer call will take place in September.
- Attempts to deceive by applicants will lead to immediate exclusion from the application process. A further application is not possible in this case.
- Decisions of the committee will not be justified towards the applicants due to the absolute confidentiality of the selection procedure.
- The selection is subject to the availability of funds.
