The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is receiving funding for international PhD candidates and PostDocs as part of the German Academic Exchange Service’s (DAAD) scholarship and support programme STIBET. These funds will be used to individually encourage qualified international PhD candidates and PostDocs by granting them teaching and research assistantships. The goal is to use and develop their scientific potential. The assistantships will support the active academic participation of PhD candidates and PostDocs in teaching and research and promote their integration into the university.
The International Office and the Bauhaus Research School have called 2 Teaching Assistantships and 1 Bauhaus Research Assistantship (duration max. 6 months, max. working hours of 59 h/month, monthly remuneration will be max. € 825,00 before tax) in 2022.
This DAAD funding will initially end on December 31, 2022. There will be no call in 2023.
The assistants are assigned to a professor and they support them with teaching, for example with their own courses or by supervising student projects. Those assistants will be preferred, who contribute to the development of English teaching courses offered by the university.
Funding 2022:
The "Bauhaus Research Assistantship" supports a project with a special focus on and value for the Bauhaus idea (intersection of tradition and modernity, eagerness to experiment, excellence, interdisciplinarity and internationality). This position enables international PhD candidates and PostDocs to contribute their personal scientific and intercultural background to current research projects and gain further research experience. The assistant is assigned to a professor and the task amongst others also include scientific research as part of research projects. That format is not intended to support the work of the assistant's own dissertation or Postdoc research project!
