Two-part workshop: "Mastering Family & Academic Career" with Antje Rach

Research, teaching, career planning, children, partnership - and, last but not least, one's own needs: Even before the pandemic, it was always a balancing act to meet the different demands and do justice to the different roles. With the exhaustion of several years of pandemic emergencies in the bones, it sometimes seems an impossibility.

Given the demands of the academic system as well as the individual family situation, you will have the opportunity in this two-part workshop with Antje Rach:

to reflect on your personal situation in exchange with other parents,
become aware of your own values,
identify weaknesses and resources,
question role patterns to examine priorities and goals and, if necessary, to set them differently
get to know tools for time and stress management.

The aim is for you to stay in control and healthy even under challenging conditions, so that the current needs of all family members as well as the tasks of everyday work can be fulfilled in the best possible way.

The two-part workshop addresses the topic with a mix of input, discussion, and tasks with a high proportion of self-reflection. It offers space for an intensive exchange of experiences among the participants.

Participants will receive handouts and working materials during the workshop and, after the workshop, a documentation of the event. This includes the speaker's charts as well as the results of the work done together in the course. In addition, all participants will receive a literature and media list relevant to the topic.

About Antje Rach:

"I am Antje Rach, media and communication scientist, trainer and systemic coach (DBVC certified). Since 2013, I have been working with Worte & Wandel for academia, companies, self-employed and private individuals.

I have a passion for the topics of diversity, Work-Life Balance and Work-Life Integration. Knowledge gained from practical experience: as a working mother myself, I know the challenges around work-life balance and career planning.

Before dedicating myself to training and coaching, I worked in marketing communications at Lufthansa in Moscow and finally at DIE ZEIT for nine years."
