The Equal Opportunities Office, together with the Advisory Board for Equal Opportunities, works towards establishing the constitutionally guaranteed equality of opportunity between the sexes at the university. They ensure that all university members are guaranteed equal development opportunities in accordance with their qualifications and taking into account their social characteristics. In addition to the explicit promotion of women, the diversity-sensitive equality work, the commitment to a family-friendly university as well as the reduction of discrimination on the basis of gender also belong to the essential tasks of the Equal Opportunities Office. Goals and measures in this regard are laid down in the University's Equal Opportunities Plan.
The Advisory Board for Gender Equality Issues is formed to support the Equal Opportunities Officer. This advisory board includes representatives of the faculties and central institutions (decentralised equal opportunities officers) as well as two representatives of the students.
