German for HfM Students

Applicants and students require a German language certificate for admission to studies or to continue their studies at the Hochschule für Musik 'Franz Liszt'.

1. Language level B 2

Language level B 2 must be proven by one of the following examination certificates:

• Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang (DSH), here DSH-1
• Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache (TestDaF), here TDN 4 x 3
• The European Language Certificates (telc), here B 2
• Goethezertifikat B 2
• or comparable certificates from certified language course providers.

Students in Weimar have the opportunity to take part in an intensive B 2 German course to prepare them for their studies. The B 2 examination at the end of such a course can also be taken by external students and is recognised by the Hochschule für Musik in Weimar.

2. Language level C 1

Applicants for the degree programmes

• Musicology
• Cultural Management
• Teaching at Grammar Schools ('Gymnasium'/Double-Major in Music)

require proof of language level C1.

The language level C 1 is to be proven by one of the following examination certificates:

• Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang (DSH), here DSH-2

• Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache (TestDaF), here TDN 4 x 4

• The European Language Certificates (telc), here C 1

• Goethezertifikat C 1.

Students in Weimar can take part in a DSH intensive German course to prepare them for their studies. The examination can also be taken by external students.
