With the 20th general decree (in German), the city of Weimar implements the requirements of the state regarding 2G and 3G rules in certain areas.

Essential points of the general decree:

• Implementation of the 2G rule (vaccinated/ recovered) in restaurants (indoors and outdoors), tourist overnight stays, certain services close to the body, public and non-public events (indoors and outdoors), orchestra and choir rehearsals and other facilities; children under 6 years of age are treated the same as vaccinated and recovered persons; from 6 to 18 years of age, a negative rapid antigen test is sufficient as proof for children and adolescents, or the negative result of the regular school test;
• Organisers, caterers and other responsible persons in the facilities must actively demand the proof of vaccination/recovery
• Implementation of the 3G rule (vaccinated, recovered, tested) for certain body-related services, in driving schools as well as for business overnight stays
• Upper limit of persons for public and non-public events:
  • Public events in enclosed spaces: max. 1,000 persons
  • Public events outside closed rooms: max. 2,000 persons
  • Non-public events in closed rooms: max. 50 persons
  • Non-public events outside closed rooms: max. 100 persons  
• Obligation to cover the mouth and nose in crowded situations in public spaces (e.g. weekly market, bus shelters).

The general decree is in effect until 24 November 2021. Following this there will be a new ordinance by the city of Weimar.
