Dear students,
In just a few days, we will be beginning our fourth semester under pandemic conditions. Some of you are just starting your university studies and doing so under these peculiar circumstances.
We are all aware of how much the past year and a half has demanded of you, and this is exactly why your health and well-being are so important to us. We are planning the 2021/2022 winter semester very carefully and doing our best to meet all of your needs. Because the upcoming lecture period will have noticeable more in-person teaching, new rules have been put in place so that everyone feels safe and comfortable.
3G RULE
The 3G rule will apply at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar for all in-person teaching events until further notice. This means you must be recovered, vaccinated or tested in order to participate in in-person teaching events. For all three of these cases, you must carry proof of your status with you at all times.
SPECIAL VACCINATION APPOINTMENTS FOR STUDENTS
We are confident that many of you have already been fully vaccinated. However, not everyone has had the opportunity to be vaccinated. For this reason, we are showing our support for everyone and are pleased to share that there will be extra vaccination appointments available just for students.
As part of the »Campus.Impfen« initiative (vaccinate campus), all students will have the opportunity to be vaccinated at the beginning of the winter semester in Weimar easily. There are two possible dates to be vaccinated:

You may also spontaneously decide to be vaccinated; there are enough available appointments and no one will be turned away.
WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU
Be sure to bring the following items with you:
CONSULTATION
Before being vaccinated, you will have a consultation with the doctor administering your vaccination. This will also be available in English.
CROSS-VACCINATION
If you have already been vaccinated with a vaccine that is not recognised in Germany, you may also ask about being cross-vaccinated.
Help us to return to as much in person teaching as possible at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar this autumn and winter. The corona vaccination is the most effective measure for preventing the spread of infection, preventing illness and leading to a lifting of restrictions on public life.
Therefore we strongly encourage you to get vaccinated against COVID-19 and we look forward to welcoming you to campus, in classes and in Weimar in October!
Please also find attached a letter by Minister Tiefensee that was sent to us with the request to forward it to all students (in German only). We have requested an English translation of the letter. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Christian Koch
