Dear students and staff,
dear colleagues,
We hope that this email finds you well. For your convenience and support you can download the advising services flyer here.
We are currently intensively preparing for the 2021/2022 winter semester at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. There should be significantly more in-person teaching in the upcoming lecture period. We would like all students and instructors to meet again safely on campus.
To ensure that lectures and examinations can be held safely and without risking the spread of infection, the »3G« rule applies to all universities and higher education institutions effective 24 August 2021. According to the rule, only vaccinated, recovered and tested individuals (»Geimpfte, Genesene und Getestete«, or »3G«) may participate in in-person events. This has been stipulated in the Thuringian Infektionsschutzverordnung (Infection Prevention Measures), §22 (»Hochschulen«) and in conjunction with §11 (»Geimpfte und genesene Personen«). https://www.tmasgff.de/covid-19/verordnung
Together with the four faculties and the Crisis Unit, Bauhaus-Universität Weimar’s Board of Governance is currently working on how random checks can be carried out starting at the beginning of the 2021/2022 winter semester.
Even during the semester break, individual examinations, placements and internships or other events will take place in person. We ask that you please observe the »3G« rule during this period. In this regard, we would like to point out that, generally speaking, conducting self-tests under supervision is not a valid form of testing for organisational reasons. However, you can still take advantage of the free test offer at any of Weimar’s rapid test centres until (and including) 10 October 2021. General information regarding locations and opening hours can be found here: https://stadt.weimar.de/aktuell/coronavirus/coronavirustests/
The corona vaccine is – together with distancing and hygiene regulations – the most important means of containing the pandemic. In order to make in-person teaching permanently possible again, we encourage everyone to get vaccinated against COVID-19. A summary on the available options for vaccination is available on our website: https://www.uni-weimar.de/en/university/structure/central-university-facilities/service-center-for-security-management/information-regarding-coronavirus/vaccination-offer/ Appointments can currently be made, even at short notice.
We really look forward to seeing you all on campus again soon and wish you all the best for the rest of your semester break.
We are in this together.
For the Board of Governance
Best Regards
Winfried Speitkamp
