On Tuesday, 30 March 2021, the city of Weimar, together with the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, is opening a test centre on campus. Students and employees from the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and the University of Music FRANZ LISZT Weimar can be tested for the coronavirus at Bauhausstraße 7b.
The centre will open on Tuesday, 30 March 2021 from 9 am to 12 pm. Starting on 1 April, the test centre will be open Thursdays and Tuesdays from 9 am to 12.30 pm and 1 pm to 3 pm. Open hours will be extended as necessary. Tests are free of charge and no prior registration is necessary. Tests are carried out by a team of medically trained staff. The university is providing the test centre location.
The test centre can be accessed from Belvederer Allee 4 and is wheelchair accessible. Before being tested, you will need to fill out a form in the entrance area. Test swabs will be taken at two sites in a specially equipped room. After being tested, you will proceed to an outside waiting area where you will receive your test results in writing. In the event of a positive test result, a second rapid test or PRC test can be carried out on site at the discretion of the medical team. The medical team will inform the relevant health authorities of a positive test so that the necessary measures, such as quarantine and contact tracing, can be carried out.
The test centre at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is part of a network of test centres across Weimar and is open to anyone living, working or studying in Weimar. The comprehensive testing strategy is intended to detect infection as early as possible and to prevent the spread of infection. All distancing and hygiene regulations are still in effect and must be observed regardless of the rapid test results.
Further information on rapid tests, PCR test and self-testing can be found in the FAQ section of the Federal Ministry of Health webpage.
