The corona vaccine is – together with distancing and hygiene regulations and testing – the most important means of containing the pandemic. In order to make it possible for students to return to their studies, the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is encouraging all students, prospective students and employees to get vaccinated against COVID-19. There are currently a number of possibilities to get vaccinated.
You can also make a vaccination appointment at a general practitioner’s office. The best way to do this is to contact the practice directly and personally clarify the details.
For non-German speakers, the International Office has compiled a list of general practitioners’ offices in Weimar that offer services in English.
Special vaccination campaigns are organised; these campaigns allow people to be vaccinated without having to register beforehand or are offered in conjunction with other events.

Be sure to bring the following documents with you to your appointment:
Can people who have been vaccinated abroad (with Sinovac, Sinopharm, Sputnik, etc.) be vaccinated again with an EU-approved vaccine?
People who have already been vaccinated abroad with COVID-19 vaccines that are not licensed in the EU need, according to the current legal situation and taking into account the age-appropriate vaccination recommendations, a renewed series of vaccinations in order to obtain the status of vaccinated persons in the EU. For this classification, persons (currently) need a complete vaccination series with a vaccine approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA). A current list of EU-approved COVID-19 vaccines as well as information on the required number of vaccine doses can be found on the PEI website.
The vaccination series should be started at a minimum interval of ≥ 28 days. In such cases, the persons to be vaccinated should be informed that increased local and systemic reactions may occur. The vaccinating physicians are asked to actively observe the occurrence of increased vaccination reactions and, if necessary, to report them to the Paul Ehrlich Institute (PEI).
