As a student at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, you automatically have a library account and will not have to take any further action - you can use your thoska to check out items right away.
Please fill in our online registration form and have us register your thoska as a library card at the service desk. Note our service hours - Monday to Friday, from 9am to 6pm.
Any resident of Germany may register a library account with us. Please fill in our online registration form and have us finish the process at the service desk. Note our service hours - Monday to Friday, from 9am to 6pm. We will need an official ID and proof of residence (usually your Aufenthaltsgenehmigung and/or Meldebestätigung).
Your library account will be the thoska, a card issued by university libraries across Thuringia or by the Herzogin Anna Amalia Bibliothek here in Weimar. If you already own a thoska, you can use it for your account with us, and if not we'll be happy to issue one for a one-time fee of EUR 10.
Are you under 18? You will also need to have a parent or legal guardian fill in a declaration of agreement, and we will need to see their ID.
Your account allows you to request items from the closed stacks and to view and renew your borrowed items in BibSearch and the OPAC. The login details for your account are the library number (on the back of your thoska) and your date of birth (in DDMMYY format).
We recommend that you set your own password, observing the university guidelines.
