University Strategic Development Office

The University Strategic Development Office (UE) is a central university facility that provides support for a broad range of projects and issues in the strategic and planning division at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and its organisations: the University Council, the Presidium, the individual faculties, the central university facilities, and the member groups.

The Office is responsible for organising and supervising structural and strategic agreements between the university and the Ministry and between the Presidium and the faculties. They are also responsible for academic management, implementing university-wide surveys, the university’s institutional quality development, as well as initiating and supervising teaching and learning development projects.

The UE is the driving force behind development projects and works together with numerous local and national funding bodies, as well as with other institutions in Germany and abroad.

Promoting teaching and learning

The University Strategic Development Office supports future-oriented teaching and learning by providing information and advice, funding formats and qualifications.

eTeach Netzwerk Thüringen

The eTeach Netzwerk Thüringen stands for the networking of Thuringian universities, for the establishing of connections between teachers, an open exchange and the mutual provision of experiences and results. With the funding format of the cooperative impulse projects, we would like to give you the opportunity to implement your ideas for the design of learning, teaching and testing together with colleagues from other Thuringian universities.

Bauhaus.Modules

The »Bauhaus.Modules« give students the opportunity to expand their studies with explicitly interdisciplinary courses and to deal with a variety of new perspectives, to try out cooperation with other disciplines and to reflect on their own work.

Open T-Shape

The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar would like to anchor the topic of sustainability more strongly in teaching. Participation in the project »Open T-Shape« of TU Hamburg and HafenCity University Hamburg opens up a cross-university approach. The network of eight universities has created an online platform with interdisciplinary self-study courses in the field of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, from which students from all participating universities can benefit.

MITMACH-DING

The »MITMACH-DING« helps to implement courses in cooperation between the university and the region. The modular trailer serves as a means of transportation, a base station for exchange and much more. Get in touch and let's try it out together!

Work Group for Quality and Degree Programme Development

The cross-faculty Work Group »Quality and Degree Programme Development« is responsible for optimizing the framework conditions for studying and for making study and quality-related communication processes even more effective and networked.

Lernraum.Bauhaus

The project »Lernraum.Bauhaus« aims to explore the opportunities and challenges of hybrid teaching and learning, to explore the potential of collaborative learning and working in real and virtual learning spaces and to find out how hybrid learning spaces can be designed and used at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar in the future.

LeerRaum Bauhaus

The »LeerRaum Bauhaus« project aims to redesign teaching and learning spaces based on educational principles. Existing classrooms are experimentally stripped of inflexible equipment and transformed creatively together with teachers and students. This is done co-creatively by developing and testing new spatial concepts that meet functional, aesthetic and educational criteria. A particular focus is on promoting methodological diversity and innovative solutions for teaching and learning processes. The knowledge gained is to be used not only for the conversion at the university itself, but also at other universities.

Day of Teaching and Learning

As an annual event, the Day of Teaching and Learning offers a platform for discourse, insights and experiments relating to teaching and learning at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Teaching at the university is taken further in discussions with students, lecturers and staff.
