eTeach Annual Conference at the University of Applied Sciences Erfurt 2023
15th & 16th November 2023: The Lernraum.Bauhaus team will be represented twice at the eTeach annual conference.
Sophie Foster presents the platform Work Adventure asking: "Is it Worth it? Possibilities of Virtual Gathering Platforms Within Academic Teaching and Learning Settings" (Topic Island 2, 2:30pm-3.15pm).
In the mini-workshop "Vis-à-vis - talking in between", Anne Brannys and Sophie Foster will switch from Erfurt to the hybrid learning studio in Weimar with Jan Sieber and Andreas Wolter. Together they will demonstrate the implementation of hybrid learning settings and spaces together with colleagues from the University of Vechta discussing their potentials and challenges. (5:05pm-5:50pm).
The hybrid learning studio is invited to Dresden
Tuesday, 07.11.23 : 2:45pm - 3:15pm "At one table - the hybrid learning studio at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar" | Symposium: Spaces and Learning Environments, TU Dresden & Dresden International University
The hybrid learning studio is a central component of the Lernraum.Bauhaus project funded by the Foundation for Innovation in Higher Education, in which the possibilities and challenges of hybrid teaching and learning are explored alongside the potential of collaborative learning and working in real and virtual learning spaces.
Of particular interest is a mobile solution that expands the understanding of "hybrid" by creating connections between different places. This inspiring dialogue between two locations will be presented in a unique and dialogical lecture format. Jörn Hintzer and Jan Sieber, as well as Andreas Mai, Anne Brannys and Andreas Wolter will come together at one table, in Weimar and Dresden simultaneously.
In contrast to the teaching and event spaces that are equipped with video conferencing systems and event technology, the focus of the hybrid learning studio is on the aesthetics and impact of an interior space. The aim is to explore the best possible conditions for teaching and learning in order to create inviting learning settings that invite people to spend time and create inspiring, creative atmospheres.
Wednesday, 13.09.23 : 21:15 - 22:00 "Future Slam" | Bürgerhaus Stollwerck
"The Hybrid Studio" from Prof. Jörn Hintzer (Bauhaus-Universität, Weimar, Germany)
The Future Slam creativly deals with the question of how teaching can be shaped transformatively in the future. In a creative format, teams or individuals present parts of various StIL projects from the funding line "Strengthening Higher Education Teaching through Digitisation". The following contributions provide an impetus for what other universities/university didacticians/university teachers or students can learn from the respective projects for the future.
Thursday, 14.09.23 : 10:15 - 12:15 "teaching & learning ideas" | Claudiusstrasse 1, room 201
Pitches "Hybridity" in the Design pattern Workshop Entwurfsmuster: Teaching Concept – Learning with Objects in Hybrid Settings: A Didactic Approach, Sophie Foster (Bauhaus University Weimar, Germany)
Representing Lernraum.Bauhaus and the subproject Lernen am Objekt, Sophie Foster will be presenting her recent didactical research into the fundamentals of object learning in hybrid settings at this year’s TURN-Conference. Here, she will present her teaching concept for a preparatory workshop planned with the eTeach-Netzwerk Thüringen in the upcoming winter semester. The training aims to introduce learners to AR and 3D scanning technologies alongside object-based self-learning sessions so that they can apply these competencies to their own disciplines.
The TURN Conference is a series of conferences initiated by the Stiftung Innovation in der Hochschullehre (StIL), which kicked off in Kiel in 2022 and is now entering its second round in Cologne. It is an annual exchange location for teaching and learning at universities. TURN stands for change of perspective, courage to change, openness and departure.
