The faculty offers a comprehensive university education in the two fields of architecture and urban planning. The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is a space for thought and experimentation. By tackling issues relating to spatial and built environments, we establish close links between architecture and urban planning, which contributes to our particularly modern profil. We provide students with the skills and abilities needed for creative, independent design, and academic research. We also teach and strengthen planning knowledge, skills, and methods that open up numerous fields of work and activity. The faculty works closely with practical partners from planning and architectural offices, cultural institutions, and business and administration. It is primarily based in the Van-de-Velde building, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This building houses numerous seminar and workshop spaces for the faculty’s students.
