For more information about doctoral opportunities at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, please contact the Bauhaus Research School. As the central scientific facility of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, the Bauhaus Research School supports PhD candidates in all four faculties and offers advice in all matters of doctoral research.
Please note, that details about application modalities and admission requirements, submission deadlines for applications to the structured PhD programmes, as well as independent doctoral research may differ - all information on doing a doctorate at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is available online here.
Foreigners who do not have received a university degree in Germany (no education nationals) please contact the International Office of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar for proving required documents and certificates: service-international@uni-weimar.de
ENROLMENT
Usually after your admission by the Doctoral Candidate Admissions Board (Graduierungskommission) of the respective faculty, you can enrol via our Bauhaus.CampusPortal as a doctoral student, too.
For doctoral students at the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, further regulations on enrolment have been in force since 2021 (see § 5 (7) doctoral regulations of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, May 2021).

The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar regularly employs PhD candidates as research assistants and offers scholarships and grants to help doctoral candidates to finance their own research.
