Technology rental of the eLab

Zur Durchführung webbasierter Projekte, Präsentation von (Bewegt-)Bildern oder der Arbeit mit verschiedenen digitalen Tools stellt das eLab einen Technik-Verleihservice für Studierende und Mitarbeitende der Bauhaus-Universität Weimar zur Verfügung. Im Folgenden sind alle Informationen zur Reservierung der Technik, zu den Leihgeräten sowie zu den Verleihbedingungen bereitgestellt. 

Reservation and rental conditions

Reservation

Due to a reorganisation of the lending service, the service is very limited this semester. We ask for your understanding.


The reservation and use of the technology rental is free of charge and only requires a written advance reservation.

For this purpose please fill in the following Equipment loan form.

The collection and return of the lent devices always takes place on Wednesdays 13:00 to 15:00. 

The maximum loan period is 1 month. The loan period can only be extended by arrangement.

Please delete all data created during use (e.g. pictures, documents, etc.) on the rental devices yourself at the end. If you do not delete the data, the eLab reserves the right not to accept the equipment.

Rental conditions

  1. The equipment is provided for use exclusively for agreed purposes (research, teaching, projects, seminars, ...); use for other purposes (private or commercial) is not permitted.

  2. Loans are only possible to students and employees of the Bauhaus University.

  3. The equipment must be treated with care. In the event of damage caused by negligence or theft, the eLab reserves the right to hold the borrower liable.

  4. Any damage that has occurred must be reported when the unit is returned.

  5. Required software on the devices must be requested in advance from the eLab. The software installation on the devices may not be changed by the borrower.

  6. Any special arrangements that go beyond the conditions set out here must be recorded in writing on the form.

  7. Upon collection of the equipment, these terms of use are accepted by signing the rental slip.

  8. Personal data will be stored for the above-mentioned purposes for a period of 3 months.

  9. A copy of your ID card is required.

More information

  • Guided access - Official instructions from Apple to restrict functions of the iPad for exhibitions or similar.

Restrictions

  • No use of Apple Pencil possible. For drawing, there is the alternative of the Wacom One graphics tablet.
  • No integration of depth camera or LiDAR sensor and therefore no possibility for 3D scans.

    With the adapter, the iPad can be connected to beamers or monitors via HDMI. iPhones with a Lightning connector can also be used with the adapter.

Graphic tablet (Wacom One Creative Pen Display)

For the use of the Wacom One, external software is required. It is possible to borrow a laptop with Affinity Design installed. Alternatively, the free software Xournal++ can be used.
