Achievment - Interdisciplinarity - Identification - Commitment
The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar awards the Bauhaus Scholarships to outstanding students who have the potential of achieving above-average performance or have gained above-average qualification in their area of expertise. The following scholarships are available:
The application deadlines were 31 January and 31 August 2024.
The general rules are:
OUTLOOK 2025/26:
Scholarships are awarded to especially talented students of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar (2nd semester or higher in bachelor’s, master’s, Diplom, state examination programmes) who have demonstrated above-average academic performance at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
Candidates must be enrolled in a course of study at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
In addition to excellent academic performance, the awards commission also considers the following criteria:
Social aspects, biographical hurdles and the individual potential of students in their current life situation can be taken into account.
Bauhaus Scholarships for students may not be awarded to candidates who are already receiving public funding, for example, through a DAAD scholarship. Exceptions are defined in the scholarship regulations (see MdU 58/2019)
Scholarship holders are only allowed to work in a part-time job according to the relevant regulations of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar (MdU 30/2022, in German; may not exceed the respective applicable limit for "geringfügige Beschäftigungen/marginal employment)
The funding period of this 12-month scholarship format begins on 1 April.
Funding recipients are obliged to submit a final report.

The Scholarship Commission of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar is expected to decide on the award of the scholarships in February/March.
In addition to the award criteria of academic performance, voluntary work/commitment and interdisciplinarity, social aspects, biographical hurdles and the individual potential of students in their current life situation can be taken into account.
The awarding is subject to the availability of funds in the respective funding year.
