Bauhaus-Universität Weimar: Technical Support

We will use BigBlueButton for the webinars. Please pay attention to the following technical information so that you can participate in the webinars without any problems!

General technical advices for all

Choose a location with a stable Internet connection for your participation.
There is a separate room with an access link for each webinar. The rooms are usually occupied by hosts.
Please use headphones or headsets to avoid echoes.
Please test if your microphone is working, e.g. here https://online-voice-recorder.com/de/
Usually only the hosts have the video on. Only for individual consultations it is possible to activate the video.
If you do not speak, please switch off the microphone.
If you have a question, please announce it by writing »Question« in the chat, the hosts will give you the chance to speak.
In order to speak with the hosts and other participants, you must allow access to your microphone when entering the room. Alternatively, you can use the integrated chats to exchange ideas and ask questions.
In case of technical issues it may help to change the browser, you could try e.g. Edge Chromium or Google Chrome.

1. Note before using the webinars and the livestream:

The respective webinar rooms and he livestream are realized by the BigBlueButton service provided by the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.

As soon as you enter the webinar room or livestream, you will be visible to other guests and the moderators. To do this, give your consent by clicking on the respective link to the offer of your choice.

2. Information on the implementation of webinars via video and web conferences with BigBlueButton (›on premise‹)

The respective webinar rooms and the livestream are realized by the BigBlueButton service provided by the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar itself.

In order to operate the BigBlueButton service with the highest possible level of data protection and security, those responsible at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar have made the necessary default settings for data economy.

The following data will be temporarily stored by the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar when you participate (as long as the webinar or live stream is running)
processed:

• Contact details voluntarily provided by the participant (title, first name, last name, email address)
• Participation in the respective event of the Bauhaus University Weimar
• the metadata of the Internet connections
• Additional information voluntarily provided individually by the participant himself and the other participants in the course of the video and web conferences, such as

    • audio and video data,
    • Documents and desktop content via the sharing function,
    • Chat content or history.

Participation in the video and web conferences is voluntary and can be ended at any time without justification and without disadvantages for the participant.

The personal data generated during the participation in the webinar or the livestream will be deleted at the end of the webinar or livestream, but at the latest after the end of the event.

The data protection provisions of the » Data Protection Declaration of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar also apply.

3. Note before using Vimeo services:

The stream is offered via the “vimeo” platform. This provision is made under separate responsibility for the processing ("controller-to-controller") of personal data in accordance with Art. 4, No. 7 in conjunction. Art. 24 GDPR and on the basis of the general business, usage and data protection conditions of the service provider.
