We offer you, in the company of your tutors, the chance to become better acquainted with your new home and university in Weimar. Our orientation programme enables you to get off to a good and easy start at the university during your first days in Weimar.

The Studieneinführungswoche is THE event to meet your future co-students, to make new friends and to experience and feel the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar as a whole.
Accompanied by the student tutors, you will receive advice on everyday student life as well as on the cultural and leisure activities on offer in Weimar.
Together with your tutors, we’ll help you take care of the most important formalities and give you some ideas about what to do after a hard day at university, e.g. cultural events and sports programes.

BISON (an acronym for Advising, Information and Service Online) is a study portal operated by the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. It offers prospective applicants, students, professors and employees a fast and direct overview of student life and instruction at the university. Also in Weimar, the Studierendenwerk Thüringen offers well-equipped accommodation in its own student residences.
Particularly attractive are the rental prices of about 250 € per month on average, which include all operating costs including water, electricity and heating. The apartments are mostly furnished and have modern fitted kitchens.
In addition, the residential complexes are directly connected to the data networks of the universities. Thus, for example, online teaching content can be used in your own room around the clock. Housing tutors help newly arrived international students to find their way around the new environment, the facilities of the Studierendenwerk Thüringen as well as the city.
Suitable housing is also available for students with disabilities or chronic illnesses as well as for students with children. An overview of the housing facilities can be obtained online by all interested parties. The application for free housing is made directly through the Studierendenwerk Thüringen.
We welcome you at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. Get your Welcome Bag with many useful helpers for your start of your studies at our university. The distribution of the Welcome Bags will be during the Studieneinführungswoche at the Campus Office, Geschwister-Scholl-Straße 15.
Alternatively, you can still pick them up there until the beginning of November.
