The Bauhaus-Universität Weimar’s Diversity Department was established in November 2019 and is committed to recognising and integrating diversity and equal opportunities at the university, as well as reducing discrimination and disadvantage.
Our priorities are physical and digital accessibility, sexual and gender diversity and anti-racism, in addition to raising awareness of diversity and different forms of discrimination. The Department organises and hosts workshops activities, conducts training courses, and is involved in networks and bringing diversity-related topics to the university committees.
Diversity Officer Dr. Miriam Benteler also offers advice and support to all university members who have experienced discrimination or disadvantage at the university due to racism, ethnic origins, disabilities, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion or beliefs.
The Diversity Advisory Committee supports the Diversity Officer in their work.
