Starting July 20th 2020, the library building will be open to the public again. From Monday to Friday, 10am to 4 pm, up to 90 visitors at a time will be able to enter the library, browse the stacks and make use of our study spaces. We are especially glad to announce that periodicals will become available again.Access to the building and use of the desk spaces are subject to special conditions. Most importantly, visitors will be required to leave a form with their contact details in order to trace infection chains in the event of an outbreak. Of course, the general hygiene and safety measures remain in place as well.We’re very much looking forward to seeing you in the library again. However, in light of the current situation, we would still like to remind you to continually evaluate your need to visit the library, and to be aware of the information we compiled for you here.

Since July 13th 2020 the University Library has been able to provide requested articles to university members as scanned pdf documents. Regulations laid out in the relevant section of copyright law, the Urheberrechts-Wissensgesellschafts-Gesetz (UrhWissG, § 60e Abs. 5), apply, i.e. up to 30 pages or at most 10% of any one item can be supplied in this way. The campus delivery service as well as the associated research and scanning services are free of charge for members of the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
Please trigger campus delivery requests using the online form. If you find an article on the discovery system BibSearch, a direct link to the form will be available.
You will receive the article as a download link with automatically generated login details sent to the e-mail-address you provide. The document will be available for download for 30 days, after which it will be deleted automatically. Please feel free to contact us for any further assistance.

Since July 2020 The University Library has provided access to the current version of Bautabellen für Ingenieure (Schneider Bautabellen) online from within the university network. The 24th edition of this standard reference covers all relevant areas of study and practice and represent the current state of standardization.
You can access the licensed e-book from across campus, using our database information system (DBIS) to reach it. The online version is also listed in our online catalogue as well as in the discovery system BibSearch. University members may gain access from off campus by a VPN connection.

In line with the initiative to acquire nationwide licenses sponsored by Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG), access to two further databases has been granted from within the university network:

Market Research & American Business, 1935 - 1965
This database is built from the Institute for Motivational Research’s company archive and serves as an important resource for research about the history of American consumption and transnational marketing.

Gender: Identity and Social Change
This database focuses on sources from 19th and 20th century angloamerican culture about the history of the suffragettes and the fight for women’s right to vote, as well as feminism and various topics related to gender history.
