1. Student Orientation Week at the university library

The library makes an introduction – this year live and in person! At the start of the semester we invite all first year students to our kick-off event »More than just books – a university library introduction« on October 5th at 11.15 a.m. in the Audimax. Additionally we offer guided library tours from October 4th to 7th. We look forward to our new students and hope to meet you all in the library.
We’d like to ask for everyone’s patience towards higher noise levels during Student Orientation Week. The immatriculation ceremony in the Audimax on October 12th from 5 p.m. is especially likely to cause some disturbance in the library. If you’re looking for a quiet place to work, we recommend visiting the Limona building.

2. »Wissenschaftsmanagement« journal online

The university library now provides free trial access online to the journal Wissenschaftsmanagement for university members.
In one annual issue, the journal collects topics from university, organization, research and science management. Additionally, interesting standalone articles on many different topics are published online throughout the year and eventually collected in the annual issues. You may browse individual issues online or download them as a PDF.
Access is enabled from across campus until December 31st 2022.

4. Photography contest »OPEN HORIZONS« exhibition

Starting on October 10th 2022 the university library will house a selection of photos in its entrance area that were entered into the International Office‘s photography contest this year, which was titled »OPEN HORIZONS«.
The world has reopened after the pandemic related shutdowns of the last years – travelling abroad to study or for internships is no longer restricted, countries long locked off can now be travelled and discovered again. New, open horizons await!
The contest, held every 2 years by the International Office in cooperation with University Communications, is aimed at students who spent part of their studies abroad and international students at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar. You will be able to see impressions from stays abroad, for studies or internships, from Italy, Norway, Iceland, Cyprus, Australia, Peru and many other countries.
The photos with accompanying texts can be seen until mid-December. Visitors are invited to vote for their favourite!
