Resilience Stories (Working title)
- A collaborative artwork / a collection of stories / a collage, recorded with ink or paint made from ash.
The Antropocene leaves its mark. All too often, they are an expression of brute force against nature, but also of people who forget that they are a part of it. But the resilience of nature is enormous, it always finds a way, no matter what you do to it. I also see this power in human nature. I would like to search for traces in Narva, for stories of resilience and resistance, of courage, of small everyday miracles and how the history of the place has shaped the human and non-human inhabitants and contributed to their view of the world/their nature/their way of life.
I want to listen, to let the place, the people, plants, animals, elements... tell their own stories.
What will I encounter? A little plant growing through the concrete? Animals that have found a (new) home? People whose history, that of their parents or grandparents, is/was shaped by the oil shale mining in the region and the associated industry? What makes them strong? What does the place mean to them? What wishes, dreams and fantasies would they like to share?
For the recordings, I would like to develop a unified medium to collect these stories—whether written down, painted, stamped, or transcribed.
Stories are written down, often with ink. That way, they endure and serve as reminders of something that once was—just like ash.
As a technique, I'm interested in creating ink or paint made from ash. I want to experiment with this in advance, so that I already have a practical recipe on hand when I arrive, allowing me to make ink with the materials on-site and start recording right away.
(Pigments... egg tempera... oil?)
Maybe I’ll come up with a fitting question—one that invites people to write or paint their stories for me. Perhaps I can use the ash-based ink to capture impressions and experiences of all kinds. Maybe the rain or a river will blur the ink. Maybe I can print with the leaves of a plant, or a lizard might leave behind its footprints :)
If I find a unified medium for these resilience stories—perhaps pre-prepared sheets in a specific format—I could assemble them into a collage.

Asche = Erinnerung …Tinte aus Asche? …Pigmente …Eggtemphra …Öl?
- Farbe mit öl "blutet"... trocknet nicht so schnell aus
- Farbe mit Eigelb ... trocknet super schnell aus ... mit Essig gehts:)
- Pigmente fein mörsen...sieben auf Glaßplatte mischen?
-3Teile Pigment, 2Teile inneres vom Eigelb, 1Teil Essig
ein einheitliches Medium um Geschichten zu sammeln, als Collage zusammenzufügen
mit offenen Sinnen den Geschichten lauschen… Neugier, entdecken… zuhören
Menschen Schreiben mit der Farbe ihre Erlebnisse auf, eine Eidechse läuft übers Blatt, drucken mit Pflanzen vor Ort, der Regen lässt die Farbe verwischen…
was macht sie alle stark? Woher kommt die Wiederstandskraft?
Natur ist am ende immer stärker - egal was man ihr antut.

Dabei verstehe ich mich allenfalls als Chronistin, wertfrei, mit offenen Sinnen und ohne den Anspruch, ein vollständiges Bild oder eine konkrete Meinung wiedergeben zu müssen.
Mich interessieren vor allem die hoffnungsvollen Geschichten, ein lösungsorientierter Ansatz, ohne die Dinge zu verharmlosen.
