Relationship patterns: Artistic Research for togetherness and growth of species in their „Umwelt“ | |||
Artistic Research of cryptogamic botany (Moss, Lichen, Algae, Fungi, Ferns) with a special focus on transient and long-lasting interspecies connections in the environment. We are especially curious about the spreading and growth of Lichen in the urban environment of Weimar, the extraordinary relationship and merge of algae and fungi partners to form Lichen is a remarkable example of togetherness in nature. In the field, we will observe further inter-species relations and will discuss character, adaptations, and usefulness for the partners. Further examples: Mycorhizza, Nitrogen fixation plant bacteria housing projects, genetic colonization in crown Galls, mistletoe, and merges developed by grafting. On Laboratory and field experiments we will design useful habitats and experimental set up i.e introducing biosensoric for monitoring life. Projects are advised and supported individually on request. | Artistic Research of cryptogamic botany (Moss, Lichen, Algae, Fungi, Ferns) with a special focus on transient and long-lasting interspecies connections in the environment. Lecturer(s): Klaus Fritze
Credits: 4 SWS
Date: Mondays 15.15-18.30
Venue: DIY Biolab @ Marienstraße 7b, Room 202
First meeting: 10.10.2022
