It's 2 different things, between realistic thing such a map as a navigation and also absurd lines as the result of the movement. All thing can be done at the same time. It represents fun art in usage of techology.

I used magnet to move the pencil inside, so when I play around with the map on top of the box, at the same time pencil also make some lines inside. I made iron wire for the pencil a little bit circular at the top to prevent some rigid lines as the result, then the lines will not be exactly the same like the movement I did on the top with the map.
