It has to be shown that | It has to be shown that film editing and genetic engineering are somehow comparable in its way to transmit an specific impact in a given social or biological millieu. Synthetic biology and digital imaging although by film are the main features of our theoretical and practical teaching. The emerging progress in modern biology has an enormous impact on our dayly life and doing. For example novel DNA editing techniques like Zincfinger or CRISPR Cas9 recently came up allowing the modification of life in a way similar to the options of influencing digital images. Digital film editing in our lectures serves as a bridge to approach gene editing as a novel design tool. To understand and to critically reask novel biosynthetic techniques and to approach chances of the methods to be used as artistic media is one aim of the workshops held in Bio- and digital Bauhaus- lab alternately. Furthermore we want to initiate and support artistic research processes by the students although in individual guidance. | ||
