Corona Simulation
2020/2021 - Media Art Strategies
About
The Corona Simulation is an interactive 3D application, designed for mobile phones, in which visitors can watch and influence the spread of the Corona virus. While it tries to mimic realistic behaviour, it does not aim or guarantee to be complete scientific at all nor does it give any recommendations about how to behave in real life. It's a private discovery of how the Corona virus is influencing our society.
The application will be made with Unity 3D and regular tested on two Android devices, one low-end and one high-end device. This will ensure playability for a large audience.
Features
- Visualization of virus spread and people contacts
- Playable avatar: Walk around a city district and interact which the environment
- Government mode: Tweak laws which directly have an influence on the virus spread
- Bio mode: Tweak scientific data and rules which directly have an influence on the virus spread
- Not all modes have to be used. You are free to control government and nature, or just try to have an impact with your avatar alone.
- Application settings and current simulation state can be saved
Target Devices
The application will be available for free on mobile phones, therefore Android and iOS. The graphics are scalable from low-end to high-end devices. Nevertheless, minimum software and hardware requirements might still exists and are about to change. Surely, 100% compatibility is not possible for every device.
Download
The simulation app can be downloaded on my itch.io page. Also, I want to make the development as open as possible. Therefore, you're able to post comments about the project or report bugs on my itch.io page.
