It would be also great to continue discussing emerging works of yours. Also, I would still like to play with the self-crafted sensor I have introduced you during the last class. If you feel similar, bring your computers and arduinos.

It feels like the Non-machines class becomes more a BioArt Forum I had imagined a year ago: a mix of workshops, and discussions on Bioart. It didn't happen back then, because of too intense workshops.

During our previous meetings we have tried to skim through the idea of non-machines, by taking a look into works of the exhibition last summer at the bauhaus university. We have also took a look into technological side of three pieces: 1 + 1 = 1 by Dahye, SelfPleasure by Nicolas and electro|botanic by Cosmo.

To wrap up our previous meetings, I was thinking of proposing to discuss an introduction of the /Technologies of Care/, a book by Yvonne Volkart, recently published by Diaphanes. This book is a summary of Yvonne Volkart's many years of research and in a way also work at our BioLab over the last 10 years.

File:Yvonne-Volkart-technologies-of-care-Introduction.pdf is the introduction of the book with additional comments to pay attention and/or discuss in the class. Please read it quickly and mark the keywords/sentences you would like to discuss.

The whole book by Yvonne Volkart is to download at [1]

The book launch is foreseen in two weeks on the 1st of December in Berlin at Panke gallery, [2]
