Beschreibung
„Sieh dir mich an: ich entwerfe Küsten. für Norwegen habe ich einen Preis gekriegt. Nun haben Sie mir Afrika übertragen, und natürlich mache jetzt lauter Fjorde, weil ich sie nun mal mag und so altmodisch bin, dass ich nun mal meine, sie verleihen einem Kontinent was herrlich Barockes“ Der Planetendesigner Slartibartfaß aus Douglas Adams Per Anhalter durch die Galaxis muss entweder sehr viel Zeit oder intelligente Werkzeuge und Methoden haben um seine Werke in ihrer unvorstellbaren Kleinteiligkeit zu entwerfen und zu realisieren. Im Werkmodul The Cybernetic Garden befassen wir uns mit dem Thema Komplexität. Wie können wir Komplexität erzeugen, kontrollieren, wie können wir mit ihr umgehen, sie begreifen oder reduzieren. Vor allem aber wie können wir sie für den Entwurf und die Umsetzung gestalterischer Arbeiten nutzbar machen. In mehreren kurzen Aufgaben beleuchten wir das Thema von verschiedenen Seiten: Komplexität in sozialen und natürlichen Systemen, in Grafik, Ton und einfachen Programmierbeispielen.
