The interactive Video Installation of Leon Billerbeck und Ioannis Oriwol focuses on the origin of human identity and its development by genetic factors. Therefore they initiate a transient sitespecific video editing experiment in which they take advantage of the live VJ workflow. In the genesis of their work they combine distinct footage portraying divers mimic expressions with a intuitive approach of digital film editing, i.e. over-layering, dynamic recombination, processual change of rhythm and most importantly the integration of a live camera feed. The aim of this course was to combine and create a fusion of DNA Editing and Film Editing and develop a concept on how to visualize this abstract but actually quite close relation.
