The photographic picture, as Point of Time – a mechanic glimpse – takes an event out of its context. Movement becomes standstill with the instantaneous moment of the exposure being arbitrarily stretched for deferred inspection. But what happens to the accompanying sonic environment?

Visual and sonic snapshots have been taken simultaneously. The mathematical rectangle function of the photographic exposure operation has been applied to the sound recording completely analogous and synchronous to the optical information. By means of digital audio processing all time information is destroyed – virtually freezing the sonic image of the exposure moment.

Out of this stagnancy new movement emerges. Just as motion is anticipated from the photographic image, the sense of hearing reconstructs sonic processes by constantly scanning the rigid spectrum and seeking for clues within the expanse of noise.
