GMU:3DIY/Printer queue

From Medien Wiki

the printer has found it's new home and is sort of available. the room can for the moment be booked via me.

so, the next step will be the one you are all craving for: printing! fair enough and you shall do so, but as none of us has much experience it would be nice if you would document your printing and the tricks and tweak you find out. here is the perfect place for this.

please document your printer usage and your experiences. the printer queue is a schedule, where you can sign in for printing. with your name, the name and a picture of the thing you are going to print, the estimated print time. And when you are done a print report: featuring the settings you used, the time and amout of material it took, what issues you came across, how you fixed it ... the amount of material you used...

remember to always obey the two rules:
do not break anything!
do not hurt yourself!

test.bfb 25.8. Robert S. und Florian M. extreme warping on the spire higher print resolution, cooldown by fan in the critical phase, rasp and sand paper
test2.bfb 26.8. Robert S. und Florian M. improved testprint, based on this, we startet printing the complete animation cycle of 16 frames
animationcycle01.bfb (Frame 1-4) 26.8. approx 140 minutes Robert S. und Florian M.
animationcycle02.bfb (Frame 5-7 +12) 30.8. approx 140 minutes Robert S. und Florian M.
animationcycle03.bfb (Frame 8-11) 31.8. approx 140 minutes Robert S. und Florian M.

zoetrope_cap.bfb (cap of the zoetrope) 15.9.-16.9. approx. 10 hours till abortion Robert S. und Florian M. imprecise printbed complicates printing of large objects (20x20x1cm), ABS warps too much (high temperature?)

So große Sachen mit ABS zu drucken ist schwer, versucht PLA --Matthias.breuer 14:37, 22 September 2010 (CEST)

optimizing the .stl file, trying the same with PLA
zoetrope_cap.bfb (cap of the zoetrope) 21.9. approx. 20 minutes Robert S. und Florian M. problems with the .stl file and imprecise printbed obviate the 2nd try while printing the raft and lead to an early stop
Eindrucken Variante 2 29.09.2010 Katharina E. Due to the extensive work needed preparing the LEDs the test print will be the final print. |-
zoetrope_cap_pla.bfb (cap of the zoetrope with pla settings) 28.9.-29.9. approx. 8hours Robert S. und Florian M. structure was a bit week and the material feed was blocked due to mechanical problems with the PLA material roll (approx 30minutes of printing without material(!), cause the extrusion was kind of blocked) slightly higher printing temperature might help, fixing the problems with the material roll will be necessary. #
zoetrope_lamp.bfb (construction for the led lamp) 29.9. approx. 2hours Robert S. und Florian M. everything went perfectly fine
