Ambient, Tangible and Pervasive: Interactions Off The Screen is | Ambient, Tangible and Pervasive: Interactions Off The Screen is a six credit point Fachmodule for Master’s students in Media Art and Design and Media Architecture offered under the Chair of Interface Design. Building on and complementing the Interface Design Group’s existing competencies and extensive curriculum spanning screen-based interfaces, mobile and physical computing, printed electronics and tangible interaction, this course introduces participants to the current state of the art in opportunistic interfaces and ambient interaction in the built environment. With a focus on the theoretical and technical foundations of pervasive and ubiquitous computing, as well as future directions for emerging technologies including Augmented Reality and the Web of Things, students will address questions on the human, social, political and environmental implications of these applications, their use and their implementation. Through targeted readings, discussion sessions and workshops, students will apply their exploration in support of the development of a relevant semester project. | ||
