Date: Wednesdays 17:00-20:30
Venue: Marienstraße 7b, Biolab (Room 202)
First meeting: Wednesday, 10 April 2019; 17:00-20:30

In the forthcoming course, we will research the interaction between a chosen organism and an individual body. Among the suggested organisms are the slime molds physarum polycephalum, a single-celled Euglena gracilis, and the human microbiome. The goal of the course is to find a visual representation of two different organisms constituting a balanced state in the surrounded environment.

This course is an extension of the BioArt course of the Winter semester, where participants were introduced to tools and organisms available in the GMU bio lab. During the Summer semester, the hands-on experiments will develop into individual projects, documented and presented on the GMU Wiki.

Along with the practical things, we will look into the artworks related to biology, and talk about the idea of systems, homeostasis, and the Umwelt.
