Description (EN)
This semester, we will create something connected that has a hardware component.
We will be working on individual projects. The main objective of this semester is to create a working prototype, a proof of concept or a partial realisation of an idea.
Every participant/team has to report their project progress every week, as we're taking a look at various strategies how to focus and refine our works. We will look at creative strategies, design processes (scribbling, wireframing, having a notebook), creating moodboards and embedding our works in a theoretical (or scientific) framework, as well as scientific methodologies, prototyping strategies and rapid prototyping possibilities.
We'll look at technologies, tools and rapid prototyping possibilities, share workflows and strategies, train presentation skills (write and talk) and practice focussing to get to the core of things.
The objective of this course is to create a refined project outcome within the very limited time of one semester.
Teams and interdisciplinary groups are welcome.
The expected outcome should be one of the following:
- a scientific paper submission for a conference
- a documentation for an artwork to be commissioned or exhibited at an arts competition or festival
Teaching methodologies:
- presentations
- workshops
- discussions
- team collaborations
- digital platforms (collecting and presenting)
- e-learning tools
